Everyone is assigned a screen name made of symbols that stays the same throughout the session. Other participants won't know which messages are yours unless you share your assigned screen name or your screen is visible to them. Messages are stored locally in your browser, not on a server. The only identifying information melt logs or uses is a random temporary ID your browser generates to show who's currently in the room -- your IP address is visible to the connection itself, like on any website, but melt never logs it. You will be able to export a written transcript of your chatroom, treat this space as recorded and pseudo-anonymous.
